Since 2022, we have faced some serious challenges — from the flooding that hit our valley to clearing mud, repairing damage and cutting fallen trees. It was a period of hard work, uncertainty and rebuilding. But our dream never stopped.
With determination, community support and the help of regional and municipal funding, we were able to restore, improve and continue building the Casa Biron we believe in. A place where nature, simplicity and hospitality come together.
And today, looking at what has been achieved, we feel proud that we never gave up.
At Casa Biron, we believe that caring for our guests begins with caring for nature. Thanks to the financial support of the Ministry of Culture, we have been able to take significant steps toward a more sustainable, greener and future‑proof stay.
What we have achieved
- Pellet/wood‑burning heating system Allowing us to heat without gas, using a renewable local energy source.
- Double‑glazed windows Better insulation, reduced energy loss and increased comfort for our guests.
- Electric charging station for cars and bicycles Supporting conscious travellers who drive or cycle electrically.
- Solar water heater Providing sustainably heated water powered directly by the sun.
- Solar panels for green electricity A major step toward energy self‑sufficiency.
- New bathroom with solar water heater at the camping stables This allowed us to open our camping stables, earlier in the season, comfortable and fully solar‑powered.
A safe new access: our new bridge
After the flooding, the municipality provided us with a completely new bridge. This not only ensures safe access to Casa Biron, but also marks a symbolic moment for us: year 2026 feels like a new beginning.
A greener and stronger Casa Biron
With these investments, we are now even better equipped to welcome conscious travellers: electric drivers, cyclists, hikers and campers who want to enjoy nature without harming it.
Thanks to the support of the Region of Umbria and the municipality, Casa Biron is greener, safer and ready for the future. We continue this path with gratitude and conviction.
